The Department for Education estimates that 97000 children were home educated in 2023 summer term, 11000 more than the previous term.
These figures show that traditional education methods are evolving and that the school environment does not suit all learners. Discussions with parents found that only 4% of children being homeschooled were due to concerns over Covid.
DfE also published new attendance figures showing the number of children persistently absent from school remained higher especially among older children at secondary school and those with special needs.
Through establishment of our successful private tutoring service and Claire’s specialist knowledge in working with children with special and additional needs, our homeschooling educational service was formed.
Over the last two years, Evolving Education homeschooling vision was to help professionalise the tutoring industry and to offer parents and children an alternative approach while being very mindful of the financial implications. By working with tutors who had the ability to raise a child’s confidence as well as offer rigorous academic tuition, students would be better off in the long run, not just on examination day.
Our bespoke homeschooling packages are currently a culmination of face to face learning, outdoor learning and online provision. We offer 1:1 and small group provision depending on your child’s specific needs.
Currently, we are working with numerous local authorities across England and very proud of our ongoing successes.
